I bought hundreds of CDs in high school and would have the "Greatest band ever!" debates with anyone who would have them with me. Now I just don't care much. I suppose I still listen to a lot of new music, but with nowhere near the fervor as before. I suppose I should fix that, since I work at a radio station now. It kind of depresses me, actually. In high school, my passion was music. I went to local shows every weekend, and bought at least one new CD a week from Zia. I was always discovering new bands and new lyrics that spoke to me. But for the longest time now, I haven't given myself any outlets. All I've been listening to is old mix CDs I made myself years ago. I miss the feeling of hearing a song for the first time and just connecting with it. I seriously think the last time I bought a CD I couldn't stop listening to, I was a senior in high school. Sad. You conclude the entry with an excellent question. It kind of depresses me, actually. 'Open Book' gets the blood flowing through my veins and my spirit racing.
